The first step to creating a better life for yourself is discovering what contributes to your pain, fear, happiness and success. Boulder Family Counseling will guide you through the discovery process, reflecting on your thoughts, beliefs and behaviors.  By helping you uncover the patterns that keep you stuck in life, you will gain clarity about how to move forward.

You have some level of awareness about your life already, leading you to seek out help. The awareness that your life isn’t working for you; finding yourself in the same situation over and over again. Together, we will look at the situations that arise in your everyday life and the thoughts and emotions that surround these events, helping us to identify the repeated patterns and a strategy for change.

We will collaborate to develop a strategy with a step-by-step action plan to respond to life. The plan will take into account your lifestyle, work and any other life circumstances. Helping you create new patterns and behaviors for living a happy and healthy life.

Take Action

A strategy and a plan are nothing without action. At the end of each session you will be assigned “homework.” The homework will be action oriented so you may practice what you are learning and have support along the way.  We will start the next session with a check-in to chat about your success and challenges.

Problems Lose Their Enormity

When you have don’t have to face them alone.

Teen Counseling

Teens may push limits, rebel against parent’s involvement, or withdraw from the family unit all in an attempt to establish independence and self-identity.

As a parent, it can be difficult watching your teen struggle. Counseling can provide a safe place for the teen to explore their feeling, identify the issues and learn new life skills.

College Student Counseling

College can be one of the most exciting and challenging times in our lives. For the first time, we are out on our own; no longer directly influenced by our parent’s rules. We have new freedoms, experiences, relationships and opportunities.

I have helped many college students with their stress, guiding them through the process of learning to mange and build resiliency.

Family Counseling

I work with families by advocating for the children/teens and mediating for the parents.  My facilitation style gives each family member a safe and supportive environment to have a voice. I strongly believe that better communication skills can be learned. The family system is a complex dynamic; you are not alone in trying to figure it out.

Individual Counseling

Counseling can be a wonderful place to explore why you are stuck in the same cycle. It is difficult sometimes to view yourself and understand why you do the things that you do. In the business world, we have teams of people who work on launching a product and tweaking that product for continued success.

I can help you stop the self–defeating patterns interfering with you reaching your potential.
